Rookie of the Year

Graeme West had a long and distinguished refereeing career on the field and in administration. He was very active in the coaching and development of referees and believed they deserved recognition for their achievements. Graeme generously donated a trophy to be awarded annually to the Rookie of the year. The winner, selected by the Award Committee, is recognised as the best new referee during the season in which it is awarded. This award is not restricted to first year referees. It is open to referees in their first season at each level of refereeing accreditation.
