Most, but not all, of the things that are doable on FamilySearch's Internet website, can also be done on the mobile apps.
Please Note: that in order to have all the resources the Family Tree app provides, it is necessary to install the "FamilySearch Tree" app and the "FamilySearch Memories" app. The tree app will not allow for memories to be added without the Memories app, even though "Memories" is on the Tree menu. If you try to add a memory, the Tree app will automatically reroute you to the App Store (iphone) or the Play Store (Android) to download and install the Memories App.
The best link for explaining FamilySearch mobile apps is: How to Use the FamilySearch Mobile Apps. It is a 5 page document that can be downloaded and printed off to use as a hard copy. It was created in 2021, so it is fairly current.
For a quick set of instructions on adding stories and memories on FamilySearch with these mobile apps go to the Posting Photos & Stories page on this site.
If you would like a more detailed online tutorial, please see the Family History Guide website. The tutorial pages are broken down into seven goals. Each goal may be worked on in segments, with step-by step instructions and assignments to practice what is taught. To start, go to: https://www.thefhguide.com/project-1-family-tree-app.html. The rest are available from the menu above the start of this activity.Â
The Family History Guide has a tutorial for the Memories App as well. For that tutorial go to https://www.thefhguide.com/project-2-memories-app.html . This tutorial has 6 different goals or segments and it starts out with how to set up the App.
