"My decision to follow Jesus Christ is the most important decision I have ever made. That decision has given me purpose and direction. It has also helped me weather the storms of life. Come Unto Christ and of er your whole soul to Him. This is the secret to a life of joy!" (excerpted from President Russell M. Nelson’s October 2024 General Conference address)
1. Focus on Christ through Temple Worship.
Invite ward members to continue to focus on the next step on the covenant path (as appropriate for
each individual). Auxiliaries can provide opportunities to worship together in the temple.
● Invite others to worship in the temple with you (part of ministering).
● Share temple names with others when you have more than you can complete yourself.
● Invite and encourage regular youth temple attendance and family history work.
2. Find Joy in Gospel Living through participation in the ward family.
This can be achieved by increasing opportunities for service and social interactions which promote connection and build unity in our ward. This will also help nurture our rising generation as they feel encouraged and sustained in a positive and unified ward environment.
● Take time to visit and get to know other members in the foyers and hallway before, in between and after church meetings.
● Joyfully fulfill church callings and participate in ward events.
● Post something you are grateful for on the “gratitude wall” at least twice during the year. Note: A space will be provided on the ward bulletin wall in the church where members can write and
display things they’re grateful for.
3. Focus on Christ through Ministering and Missionary Work.
Encourage members to see each other as children of God and find Christ-like ways to love and serve one another.
● Invite friends and neighbors to participate in service opportunities.
● Participate in missionary and ministering efforts during the year and invite family members to do the same..
● Visit shut-in and elderly members without being assigned and invite your family to participate with you..
4. Focus on every family having an emergency preparedness plan.
Encourage all members to be prepared for emergencies.
● Assemble or update your family’s 72-hour kit.
● Put together a food storage plan, and put aside money in an emergency fund.
● Invite and encourage every family to attend the Stake’s emergency preparedness class.
