The project brief focuses on designing a Cultural Centre in Kampong Baru, Kuala Lumpur, under the theme “Reclaiming the City.” The project aims to reconnect the traditional Malay kampong identity with the rapidly modernizing urban context of Kuala Lumpur. Through adaptive architecture and community-oriented spaces, the cultural centre is intended to reclaim cultural identity, public space, and social interaction within the city. The design should integrate heritage values, sustainable strategies, and participatory spaces that support community activities, cultural exhibitions, performances, and learning, while responding to the urban challenges faced by Kampong Baru.
