This in-depth building study analyzes the headquarters of the Energy Commission of Malaysia, widely recognized as a benchmark for sustainable architecture in the tropics. The report investigates how the building’s unique "diamond" geometry functions as a passive cooling mechanism, reducing solar heat gain while maximizing natural daylight. We explore implementing advanced green technologies—such as specialized high-performance glass and comprehensive greywater recycling systems—that help the structure achieve exceptional energy efficiency. This study serves as a critical evaluation of how large-scale institutional architecture can successfully integrate with, rather than dominate, its local ecosystem.
This project focuses on the documentation and analysis of the historic Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Klang Selatan, a building recognized for its architectural and cultural importance within Klang. Through an on-site study, the project involved detailed measurements and systematic recording of the existing structure to produce a complete set of architectural drawings.
