Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of medicine focused on a holistic approach to the mind, body, and spirit. The emphasis is on eating the best foods for your body’s constitution since food is seen as medicine to heal your body. There is also a focus on intentional breathing, exercising, hygiene, and techniques to reduce stress and bring overall balance to your health. Ayurveda comes from some of the oldest written texts in the world called the Vedas.
Today, many people consume excessive amounts of food, eating whatever and whenever they feel like it. Oftentimes, eating inappropriate food combinations can lead to dis-ease and impaired digestive systems. There are many ways to eat healthily and live a balanced lifestyle, and Ayurveda is one option. For individuals to experience a real difference and a change in daily habits, clear guidance and daily dedication are necessary.
