Lessons

With options for the serious competitor to the casual rider, AVSS offers quality English Hunt Seat riding instruction for riders of all ages, beginner through advanced.  Our outdoor 150’ x 200’ sand arena and large 80′ x 200′ brightly lit indoor arena with custom leather footing allow for year ‘round all weather riding.  Spectators may watch lessons from our climate controlled viewing area.  Our lessons are scheduled by appointment.   Ship in lessons and training available as well as coaching at shows from local to “A” circuit.  We are open 7 days a week, 9-8 M-F, and 9-5 on weekends.

Year ’round riding!

Packages are available as 30 minute private (1 rider), 45 minute semi-private (2 riders) or 1 hr. groups (3 or more riders) scheduled by appointment, based on rider/trainer/horse availability.  Special packages are offered for our Pony Pal (ages 5-6) and Beginner (any age) riders.  Pay-per-lesson options are also available.

 All Lesson Packages Must be Paid in Advance, Packages Not Paid in Advance Will be Charged at the Regular Rate of $75.

24 hour notice is required for cancellations, lessons cancelled without 24-hour notice  will incur a loss of 1 lesson from the package.

Call the office at (860)677-5260 for scheduling and cancellations.  Call as soon as you will know you will not be able to attend your lesson – even if its at the last minute! We will in turn contact the appropriate instructor.  This allows the other instructors to plan their schedule and horse usage. All lesson packages are non-refundable.

All single lessons must be paid at the time of service prior to riding.

PONY PALS PROGRAM & BEGINNER INTRODUCTORY PACKAGE

5 lessons – $275

The pony pals program is designed for children ages 5-6. A one-time beginner introductory package is for ages 7& up who have an interest in horses. Both packages receive instruction focused on horse safety, grooming and tacking up, correct positioning in the saddle, riding on the lead and lunge line. Once riders are comfortable tacking up for lessons with minimal assistant we suggest riders graduate to one of the other packages to maximize riding time.
