Research Interests:

I have 15 years of experience in autism research and have a wide range of interests relating to visual perception. I’m interested in how atypicalities in perception and attention in autism affect performance in everyday tasks such as drawing and driving. I also study social perception, and at the moment I am particularly interested in how typical individuals perceive and understand autistic individuals and the consequences of this for social interaction in autism. I am also interested in cross-cultural issues surrounding autism such as how beliefs and knowledge about autism in the general population differs cross-culturally and whether autism is expressed differently in different cultures.
