• Program Committee, Member - Join the Program Committee and plan events for advocacy, education, and membership growth. 

  • Plan monthly general meetings

  • Oversee the Austin Butterfly Forum App and its data

  • Promote member only and public events

• Volunteer Committee, Member - Join the Volunteer Committee to organize volunteer events. 

  • Attend community festivals to promote ABF and all the things we do!

  • Participate in local initiatives that promote the needs of butterflies

  • Participate, support and coordinate volunteers for Keep Austin Fluttering at Zilker Botanical Garden, 1st Thursdays, 9:30A-11:30A. Sign-up via the GivePulse link shared via our calendar event or recurring event on our ABF Facebook Group page. 

• Facebook ABF Group Page Admin (Moderator) - ABF hosts a public forum online where members of the public can interact and share. The moderator will assist by approving members to post a and moderating content. ABF Membership is encouraged but not required.

Executive Committee meetings are held via Zoom at 7 p.m. every 3rd Monday of the calendar month except in December. You do not have to be an expert but interest in the study, conservation, and enjoyment of butterflies and insects would be beneficial. 

• Executive Committee, Secretary - 

  • Document meeting minutes. 

  • Develop and maintain correspondence and records. 

  • Must maintain an active paid membership. The term is 1 year and may be renewed. Approximately 2 to 3 hours per month. 

• Executive Committee, Vice President - Membership and Volunteer Coordination - 

  • Be responsible for the overall philosophy and direction of volunteer functions and/or assignments from the Executive Committee. 

  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of positive motivation on volunteer activities.

  • Be Chairman of the Volunteer Committee. 

  • Report on volunteer activities.

  • Actively seek new members. 

  • Learn and understand members desires and report these to the Executive Committee. 

  • Prepare annual Membership Directory.

  • Coordinate ABF's participation in the annual butterfly count.

  • Must maintain an active paid membership. The term is 1 year and may be renewed. Approximately 2 to 3 hours per month.
