Athens Karate Club Hosts Regional Clinic | September 21st, 2016
Karate enthusiasts from as far away as Michigan gathered over the weekend at Athens High School gymnasium and the Athens Community Center for the September Clinic, hosted by Athens Karate Club.
The event, which drew about 40 people from Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Indiana in addition to Michigan, was led by Sensei Marty Vaughan, an OU alumnus now living in Indiana. Training and testing took place at the High School Saturday afternoon, with additional training Sunday at the Community Center.
Descended from the Ohio University Shotokan Karate Club, Athens Karate Club is one of the oldest local karate organizations in the country.
