Athens Karate Club offers classes for ages 13+ at the Athens Community Center and we're currently investigating the possibility of offering Kids Karate classes starting in January 2027 for ages 6—12. If you have children who'd be interested in learning karate, please fill out this Google Form. We ask that families only submit 1 form per household.
Our club teaches the traditional Japanese martial art of Shotokan Karate. Karate training develops strong, healthy bodies; improves agility, awareness, & concentration; and teaches effective techniques of self-defense. We are affiliated with the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF). Our members have the opportunity to compete within the ISKF Mid-America region, nationally, and sometimes internationally, as well as to participate in clinics, camps, and master camps.
Join us anytime to watch or try out a class. You don’t need a gi (karate uniform) — loose, comfortable clothing will do to get you started. We're an inclusive dojo and welcome students from all walks of life. From teen to retiree, there's a place for you here.
