Classes resume January 6th, 2026—see you there!
Join us anytime to watch or try out a class with us.…You don’t need a gi (karate uniform) — loose, comfortable clothing will do.
If you decide to continue practicing Karate, you should wear a white gi (karate uniform) and belt. Gis usually come with a white belt. When you get promoted to a higher rank, you will need to wear a belt in the color appropriate to that rank. We might have a color belt in our “box” for you (club members like to donate too small gis and unused belts).
For advanced students, a mouthpiece and gloves are recommended for sparring. For sparring in tournaments, they are required for all ranks.
Place the middle of your belt on your stomach.
Wrap both ends around your back and bring them back to your stomach, holding the right part over the left part of the belt.
Then pull the left end up, from underneath both layers of the belt.
Cross both parts of the belt holding the left part over the right part and pull it up from underneath the right part.
Pull tight pointing both ends downwards.
