In a karate class we practice Kihon (kee-hohn) – basic techniques, Kumite (koo-mee-teh) – sparring and Kata (kah-tah) – pre arranged forms consisting of techniques.
All katas are following a defined pattern of moves (kicks, blocks, punches etc.), an imaginary fight between the karateka and four to eight oponents.
