Different Pathways after Junior College
1 Local Autonomous Universities
Find out more information (e.g. IGP, course requirements) about the local autonomous universities here.
University Application Process (Deadline: 19 Mar)
You should apply to each university directly via their online forms. Any application for scholarships or financial aid should be done at the same time in the online forms.
You are encouraged to stay open-minded and explore universities and courses that you have not considered before. You can pivot to other options or areas later, drawing on the skills and knowledge you have acquired along the way.
Below are the dates of the universities' 2025 Open Houses.
2 University of the Arts
Singapore’s first Government-supported private university for the arts, University of the Arts Singapore (UAS) is formed by an alliance between LASALLE and NAFA.
The courses offered are hands-on with a focus in the visual and performing arts (e.g. Design, Animation, Fine Arts, Media, Dance, and Music). Click here for the list of programmes offered by UAS.
Click here to find out more about LASALLE's admission talk and campus tour that will be held on Wed 26 Feb 2025.
3 Polytechnics
The following pages contain programmes of study at the Polytechnics for A-Level Graduates. You may be offered advanced standing and/or module exemptions as an A-Level results holder.
Do note that polytechnic curriculum is practice-oriented.
While you build a strong theoretical foundation, you have opportunities to directly apply these knowledge and skills to industry.
Students graduate with a Diploma and enter the workforce. There will be opportunities for Continuing Education and Training.
Students with good GPA can apply for local university.
Please refer to the respective polytechnics’ application deadline.
4 Private Education
For a list of private educational institutions and more comprehensive information, please click here.
The Council for Private Education (CPE) is a statutory board established in December 2009 under the MOE, to regulate private education institutions (PEIs) in Singapore.
Onus is on students to verify that the qualifications obtained will be recognised by future employers of their choice.
Courses are not publicly funded
Not all programmes are of high quality, and may offer an expensive “fast track” option with little benefits for the student.
It is important to ask yourself these questions...
Have I considered other alternatives besides private education?
Am I studying for the sake of getting a degree?
Do I have the financial means?
Is the qualification recognized by potential employers?
What is the graduation and employment rate?
What is the quality of teaching?

5 Re-taking the A-Level
It is important to ask yourself these questions...
What would I do differently this time round?
Can I repeat in a JC?
Should I repeat as a private candidate alone or in a private education institution?
6 Entering the Workforce
It is important to ask yourself these questions...
With my qualifications, am I ready and able to enter the workforce?
Which industry do I want to work in?
Are there learning/training programmes for me to upgrade my knowledge and skills?
