Career and Industry Scholarship Symposium

The Career & Industry Scholarship Symposium is an annual event organised by the ASRJC CCE Unit. The aim of this Symposium is to provide you with first-hand information and insights so you may chart your educational and career pathways with a clearer purpose.

 

In this Symposium, you will have the privilege to hear from over 50 industry practitioners across 13 industries. You will also be given the opportunity to find out more about various organisations at their respective booths. There will also be a comprehensive scholarship talk to provide you with information on industry scholarships and scholarships in the public sector.

Dr Andrew Ngo

Principal Scientist and Division Director, Composites and Structural Division (CSD)

Institute of Materials Research and Engineering  

Dr Ngo holds a PhD and BEng (1st class) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and received his MBA from Nanyang Business School (NBS), Singapore. 

 

As the Director of CSD, he is responsible for the development of ~80 research scientists and engineers in the areas of additive manufacturing, advanced alloy and ceramic materials, advanced composite materials and engineering, and next-generation structural inspection and evaluation. He identifies key projects based on opportunities for innovation in the business landscape.

 Ms Angjolie Mei

Managing Director 

The Life Celebrant Pte Ltd 

Ms Angjolie has been in the funeral industry for over 15 years. She is a certified funeral director and the only certified funeral celebrant in Singapore.

In 2015, Ms Angjolie was awarded the NFDA's Professional Women Funeral Director's Conference Scholarship. She is an award winner of the Pulsar Category of the Women’s Entrepreneur Award 2019, and has also won additional recognition as a winner of The Most Innovative Award. She also bagged the Spirit Of Enterprise Award in 2019.

She is the founder of The Life Celebrant, a funeral company that personalises and customises funerals commemorating the departed’s life.

Mr Koo Sengmeng

Head of LearnAI, AI Singapore

Senior Deputy Director , Office of Deputy President (Res&Tech), NUS

Mr Koo head up AI certification and AI standardisation initiatives in Singapore. Currently serving as the Head of LearnAI at AI Singapore, his team spearhead the development and implementation of Generational AI Capability Development programmes.  Their efforts empower working professionals to #PLUSskill themselves, facilitating organizational transformation to stay competitive in the digital economy, and help schools to prepare students to thrive in a future AI world.
