The Iterative Design Process
Each week I met with my team and Intuit for a review of our work from the week before, and discuss how we would move forward. Afterwards my team would have a debriefing session to review tasks and make assignments. Moving forward, I would complete my tasks and provide support to team members as necessary. We would submit our work to to the Intuit team for review at least a day prior to our scheduled meeting. With each iteration we completed we would receive feedback from the Intuit team with direction and clarification.
Style Guide Creation
After looking through Intuit's style repository I was able to focus on unifying the information into an easy to follow style guide. Our goal was to put the principles and elements of style and design in the context of creating instructional material while staying true to Intuit’s branding guidelines.
We all felt that we weren’t just telling our audience what they should know, but we needed to model it for them. For example, as we wrote out the guide for voice and tone, we needed to write in Intuit’s ideal tone. By modeling our expectations we felt we’d set our users up for success.
