Literacy Night

An annual event where we celebrate secondary literacy with presentations and activities from different content areas and give away free books to our community.

African American Read In

A partnership with Walker Sports Group where I work to bring families together to celebrate Black authors and Black books.

Black Advanced Placement Scholars

A school-based program to support Black students in Advanced Placement courses. I am actively working with other sponsors to build up this program to include guest speakers, college tours, AP test financial support, and cultural experiences for students enrolled in the program.

Clothed by Love - Secondary Reading Program

I volunteer as a Reading Specialist for a local non profit organization, Clothed by Love. As part of my volunteer work, I provide professional development to adults who support students in the program, and I teach a weekly reading class to high school students enrolled in the program.
