今世紀になって経験した数々の劇的な世界情勢の動きを思い起こすとき、私たちは今あらためて「アメリカの世紀」と呼ばれた20世紀を問い直す必要に迫られます。そこで、本フォーラムでは「アメリカの世紀とその行方」（“The 'American Century' and Beyond”）を主題に掲げ、2017年度は「アジア太平洋地域における帝国の解体とその遺産」（“The Fall of Empires in the Asia-Pacific”）を年次テーマとして研究セミナーを開催します。各報告に関して数時間をかけた濃密な討議を、３日間にわたって行います。
