Welcome to the PUP College of Communication!
In this era defined by rapid technological advancement, the fields of communication and media studies have never been more vital or more challenging. The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming how information is created, distributed, and consumed, presenting both unprecedented opportunities and complex new risks for communicators, journalists, and media professionals
AI is revolutionizing every aspect of the media landscape. From automating content creation and personalizing news feeds to enabling sophisticated analysis of audience sentiment, AI technologies are reshaping how stories are told and how information reaches the public. At the same time, these advances bring new ethical dilemmas and threats, such as the proliferation of deepfakes and AI-generated disinformation--challenges that can undermine public trust and the integrity of democratic processes.
As communicators, our role is not only to harness the power of these technologies but also to safeguard the values of truth, transparency, and human connection. Media literacy, source verification, and critical thinking are essential skills in an age where information can be manipulated at scale
At the PUP College of Communication, we are committed to preparing students to thrive in this dynamic environment. Our distinguished faculty, with deep expertise in both the media industry and academia, guides students through these challenges with a blend of theory, practical experience, and cutting-edge research.
As we stand at the crossroads of technology and society, the need for skilled, ethical, and adaptable communicators has never been greater. The PUP College of Communication remains steadfast in its mission to mold responsible, competitive, and forward-thinking graduates--ready to lead and innovate in the digital age
Let us embrace the future together, confident that with knowledge, integrity, and creativity, we can shape a media landscape that serves the public good.

For 45 years, the Department of Broadcast Communication of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines has been a proud home of creative, critical, and caring communicators.
Across generations and media platforms, we have stayed true to our role: to shape professionals who inform, inspire, and serve the Filipino public through ethical and impactful storytelling.
Today, we take a significant step forward.
We submit our flagship program, the Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting—for Level IV Accreditation under the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines.
This is more than just a requirement. It’s a reflection of our commitment to quality, relevance, and excellence in media education.
In Teaching and Learning, we continue to offer a dynamic and responsive curriculum, combining academic rigor with hands-on training—so our students graduate industry-ready, socially aware, and equipped for a changing world.
In the field of Research, we produce studies that speak to real-world issues—from indigenous voices and media ethics to digital cultures and development communication—advancing both scholarship and social impact.
Through Extension and Community Development, we remain grounded. We bring media literacy to communities, conduct workshops, and empower citizens—turning communication into a tool for participation and progress.
On the global stage, we embrace Internationalization. Our faculty and students engage in academic exchanges, collaborative projects, and international conferences, building bridges beyond borders.
And through a thoughtful Planning Process, we ensure that our goals and systems are always aligned with our values—strategic, sustainable, and forward-looking.
As we undergo this Level IV accreditation, we look back with pride—and move forward with purpose.
The BA in Broadcasting program is a legacy we continue to build. One that reflects 45 years of excellence, integrity, and service to the nation.
This is the Department of Broadcast Communication—
Creative. Critical. Caring.
