by Mr. Jason Hughes, Director, Utility Services at DC Water

Mr. Hughes works in the Department of Water Services and directs all activities associated with operating and maintaining the Authority's linear assets. He establishes and oversees comprehensive asset management, environmental and cost reduction programs.

Mr. Hughes also ensures compliance with local environmental and permitting requirements and federal regulatory requirements for the distribution system infrastructure and responsible for the department's environmental reporting and compliance requirements associated with the Safe Drinking Water Act and the Clean Water Act. He oversees the department's research efforts and strategic planning initiatives. Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Hughes was a construction management consultant at Alpha Corporation. worked on several large-scale transportations, civil infrastructure and building projects in Alexandria and Loudoun County, Va.

Mr. Hughes has a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. He is a member of the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation. He is also a co-author of "Post-Tensioned Retrofitting Maintains Landmark's Aesthetic-Team effort, sophisticated technology solve problems at famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater creation."
