Mr. Cone is an environmental engineer with the DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE). His current duties are focused on flood risk management in the District. This includes conducting plan reviews for proposed projects in flood hazard areas and crafting policy and regulations to help the District become more resilient to the threat of flooding. He previously worked for several years as a water resources engineering consultant conducting various hydrologic and hydraulic studies primarily for government clients.

Mr. Cone earned an MS degree in civil engineering with a water resources emphasis from the University of Maryland and a BS degree in civil engineering from Brigham Young University.
