White Rooms, November 1, 2007, 2:30 PM, 2038 Bay Street, Los Angeles, CA. This is a project that took an industrial space used for manufacturing and storage, and transformed it into a conceptual gallery, painted all in white. The space itself becomes the artwork, a sculpture that you walk into. Visitors make footprints and scuff marks on the white floor, creating a drawing of sorts in the space and thus participate in its creation. It is the viewer/participant that completes the work here, (as is always the case) only more literally with White Rooms. The subsequent installation of Fovea seen in the videos above, which opened on November 17th, 2007, presented an event at which the viewer/participant moved through the space and made the conceptual gallery a "real" gallery though their simple presence in the space.
