Doug Hyde Artist: Biography

Doug Hyde was born in Bristol in 1972. After leaving school he worked in a draughtsman’s office and then attended a college course in technical drawing and illustration. But he soon found his 9-5 work as a technical illustrator too restricting and set about working on his art in his own time, culminating in the creation of the masterly and energetic artworks that we now know so well. Recognition then came quite swiftly. In 2005, he was named as the UK’s top selling artist and the BBC News has described him as the UK’s most popular living artist.

Today the range of Doug Hyde’s work encompasses Limited Edition prints on paper, silkscreen on glass, reproductions on canvas and perhaps most appealing of all, small sculptures.

Apart from his work, Doug Hyde is a family man and also supports two charities close to his heart: “Look Good … Feel Better” and “Families for Children”.
