The Year 1910
This year was considered a turnign point in the world of art. New ehibitions, consepts, interpritations and movemnets lead to difffernt thinkings about art. As this era of art was navigated it was clear art was going though changes. Instead of following traditional art, artists are moving away and creating new interpritations in this evolving world.
Beyond art in the year 1910, socio political developments were being made. The eruption of the Mexican Revolution challenged absolute power demanding democatic reform. Standing at the start of anew decade, it is seen the changes sweeping though many view of society. Artists and their heavily impact this evolution by redifining art and its boundaries.
Authors are Umberto Boccioni, Carlos Carra, Luigi Russolo, Giacomo Balla, Gino Serverini, al who had created this manifest to expand and break free from traditonal art and explore the beauty and differnce of what is now modern art.
Major Artistic Movements: Cubism and Futurism
Art Historians and Critics: Roger Fry who was a British critic introduces post impressionalist art to the world openign a disscusion about the direction of modern art.
Cultural and Political Events: The Mexican Revolution which begain in 1910.
Major Exibitions and Reviews: The Manet exhibition in Londons Galleries challenged audiences views on the evolution of art.
Adolf Loos – Goldman & Salatsch Building
Frank Lloyd Wright – Frederick C. Robie House
Completed in Vienne was the Goldman and Saltsch Building. Archotect Adolf Loos used contrasting designs than those used throughout the city. Emphasizing Loo's modern minimalistic building design.
In Chicago the Home of Frant L.W.F.C Robie was completed. This building showcases Prairie style. Designs such as horizontal lines further helped depict the flat plain land of the midwest.
