City of Hope Code Pediatrics
City of Hope Code Pediatrics
As a pediatric oncologist and researcher with City of Hope, I care for children, adolescents and young adults with suspected or newly diagnosed cancers with the urgency these cases demand.
I’m writing to introduce Code Pediatrics, a rapid-transfer program that expedites transport of patients under 21 with signs of possible malignancy to City of Hope Children’s Cancer Center for specialized care. Transfers can be initiated from emergency departments, hospitals, clinics or private practices, and insurance barriers are addressed in real time.
Code Pediatrics facilitates transfers with local emergency rooms 24/7. We coordinate directly with referring and receiving teams to ensure clear communication, efficient handoffs and timely treatment. Immediate peer-to-peer consultation is available to discuss stabilization and next steps before transport.
Our center offers:
- Comprehensive molecular profiling to guide therapy
- A world-class bone marrow and stem cell transplant program
- Innovative CAR-T Cell therapy for Leukemia and Brain Tumors
- Dedicated child life specialists
- An adolescent and young adult oncology program
- Long-term survivorship care
To initiate transfer, call 626-256-HOPE (4673) and request the on-call Code Pediatrics attending (available 24/7). We accept nearly all insurance plans, including Medi-Cal and Medicare.
I’m also available to discuss cases. Let’s connect.
Sincerely,
Hung Tran, M.D.
