Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Contributions will take place either in-person or online. The in-person sessions will be held at the university, while the online sessions will be hosted on a platform accessible to all registered participants, who will be able to post comments and encourage discussion. In-person contributions, symposia, and opening speeches can be followed via streaming.
The following modes of participation are encouraged:
1. Symposia (on-site and virtual): Symposia consist of a set of 3 to 4 presentations organized coherently around a specific topic of interest. Each symposium has a total duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes, which includes the presentations (each lasting 15 to 20 minutes), comments by the discussant, and an open Q&A session with the audience. The symposium proposal must clearly indicate the discussant and the participating presenters.
To submit a symposium proposal, two steps must be completed IN THIS ORDER:
1) Submission of the general symposium summary: the coordinator must submit it via the "Submit symposia" tab and include:
a) the symposium title (maximum 15 words),
b) the name and affiliation of the discussant,
c) the authors and affiliations of each presentation,
d) a summary (maximum 350 words) outlining the objectives, an overview of the content, academic relevance, and the planned structure of the session.
2) Submission of individual presentation abstracts: each presenter must submit their abstract via the "Submit abstract > Abstract in symposia" tab and include:
a title (maximum 15 words)
a summary (maximum 350 words) detailing the study background, objectives and research questions, theoretical framework or approach, methodology (methods and data sources), and main findings
between 3 and 5 keywords
a list of 2 to 4 references
Important: CHOOSE THE SAME THEME
2. Paper presentations (on-site and virtual): Paper presentations may include research reports or theoretical/conceptual papers. They are organized into thematic sessions lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes, each featuring four presentations of 15 to 20 minutes, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. Abstracts must be no longer than 350 words and include 2 to 4 references.
The required content depends on the type of submission:
Research reports should include the study background, research objectives and questions, theoretical framework or conceptual approach, methodology (methods and data sources), and main findings.
Theoretical or conceptual papers should describe the purpose and scope of the work, its theoretical foundation and area of interest, main arguments, and potential contribution to the field.
Each submission must identify at least one responsible author.
Submission of paper presentations:
Each presenter must submit their abstract via the "Submit abstract > Paper presentations" tab. The submission must include:
a title (maximum 15 words),
an abstract (maximum 350 words) addressing the appropriate elements based on the type of work,
between 3 and 5 keywords,
and a list of 2 to 4 references.
3. Poster sessions (on-site printed & virtual): Printed posters will be exhibited in the conference lobby and arranged according to the designated spaces listed in the official program.
Poster proposal submission:
Each presenter must submit their proposal via the "Submit abstract > Poster sessions" tab.
Submissions must include:
A title (maximum 15 words)
The name of at least one responsible author
An abstract (maximum 350 words) that includes:
Study background
Research questions
Theoretical framework or conceptual approach
Methodology (methods and data sources)
Main findings
3 to 5 keywords
A list of 2 to 4 references
4. Roundtable sessions (on-site): These sessions aim to bring together participants with a shared interest in a specific topic within the scope of the conference. With a focus on discussion and debate, moderators will be asked to prepare a set of relevant questions for both the invited speakers and the audience.
Roundtable submission:
Each presenter must submit their proposal via the "Submit abstract >Roundtable sessions".
Each roundtable proposal must include the names and affiliations of 3 to 4 participants, along with a clear explanation of their relevance to the proposed topic.
Abstracts for roundtable contributions (maximum 350 words, including 2 to 4 references) should outline the topic and scope of the work, the theoretical framework and/or methodology, as well as preliminary findings or conceptual contributions. The abstract should also describe the intended presentation format and propose potential questions to guide the discussion.
Each contribution must identify at least one responsible author.
5. Research workshops (on-site): These sessions provide an opportunity to examine a piece of completed or work-in-progress research concerning one or more methods, traditional or innovative, and to discuss and analyse the value of the method (s) to the field summary (max 350 words, including 2-4 references).
Research workshop submission:
Each presenter must submit their proposal via the "Submit abstract>Research workshop".
6. PhD pre-conference paper (on-site and virtual): PhD students will have the opportunity to present work-in-progress that focuses either on the theoretical foundations of their research or on data and data analysis. Sessions will comprise three presentations, and each presenter will be given 10-15 minutes to present a specific point, such as developing theoretical ideas and sharing data excerpts. Seasoned researchers with expertise will engage participants in discussion and provide productive feedback.
PhD pre-conference paper:
Each presenter must submit their proposal via the "Submit abstract>PhD Pre-conference submission".
Submitted contributions (max 350 words, including 2-4 references) should describe a research area and/or topic under study, research methods and, if available, preliminary results.
Potential presenters should also list 2-3 discussion points and identify 3-5 keywords indicating (if possible) research areas and/or methodological approaches. At least one author per contribution must be indicated.
