Guests walk through the queue of Reindeer Run by entering into the “Toys of Mischief” factory, the third main emporium of Winterland that produces toys for all of Dramcorp's customers. Loud noisemaker toys, whoopee cushions, and more mischievous toys can be found throughout this fun interactive queue. The premise of the Reindeer Run is quite simple- the mischievous Party Elves who work in this segment are up to a new ploy- to get guests to go on a (illegal) Reindeer Run, touring the factory and some of the backstage areas.
Guests then get to the loading platform where they see reindeer loaded up ready for guests to ride. The ride system is very similar to Arthur- The Ride, featuring an inverted-spinning dark ride roller coaster that is family-friendly and a must-do for all. The tracks for the vehicle are suspended above, right on the ceiling, and can weave in and out of Winterland. This high-energy adventure can pack in up to four guests in each vehicle, making it a high-capacity dark ride for the Factory.
The sleighs leave the loading platform to look over the reindeer enclosure on the level below. The leader of the Party Elves reminds guests that some of the reindeer on this ride here at Winterland have served sentences in this detention center, so all guests should keep alert if they see any elves from the first floor. While this segment is extremely cold (real reindeer live here!), it breezes by quickly and can offer an overhead view of the enclosure.
Suddenly, the sleighs veer out of the bright enclosure into the Winterland exterior quickly doing a few spins. You glide right past the Winterland sign and soar over the miniature town.
From there, the ride weaves into a cavern opening into the first exclusive scene, the Ice Forest. Glowing icicles drip from bare trees in backlit darkness, a love letter to Meowwolf exhibits. The ground below is an ice lake, but underneath glowing colors drape the cold waters. Kooky music warbles with hints of carol themes, featuring renditions of songs like "Away in a Manger" or "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer".
After weaving through more of the more of the wintery forest suspended in dark, glowing caverns. we see a large log cabin in the distance. Guests, and the reindeer, enter into the Santa's workshop to see Animatronic elves building new toys for all the children around the world. One side of the workshop has elves at work producing porcelain unicorn figurines, while the other side is hard at work making coal unicorn figurines, a subtle reference to the Snow Miser and Heat Miser shown. Santa can be seen at the end, packaging toys into boxes. Party Elf warns guests but suddenly remembers that Santa isn't wearing glasses, so he can't see them at all, so we make a quick escape.
Bursting through a doorway, we enter the Main Factory, getting an overhead view of the Toys of Magic and the elves at work. Since it seems that Party Elf has led us to the very elves we want to hide from, we jump right through a balcony door into a present box, a hallway right behind the queue. Because of the tight fit, the next scene speeds through the hallway, with psychologically crazy screens bordering all sides, in typical Meawwolf fashion. We burst out into Elf Vegas, the hot epicenter of casinos and hotels for the Party Elves, where similar to Peter Pan's Flight, soar right over a miniature parody of Las Vegas, from the dazzling Vixen's Palace to the New Elf, New Elf Hotel. Just when we near a wall, the scene bursts open to the outdoors, with a small track outside, offering a view of the real Vegas.
We veer back into the safety of Winterland, as crazy as ever. As the trains pull into the unloading station, the Party Elf asks us to remind him NEVER to offer reindeer runs again... or he'll forget.
