In class = Students will be welcomed to the new school year. They will share how they spent their summer break and learn about the importance of Arabic as a language. Introduce the importance of learning Arabic (language of the Qur’an, culture, and communication). Discuss and establish classroom rules and expectations for Arabic class with students including how they should be prepared for class and how materials should be organized. Encourage students to participate positively and create a welcoming and respectful Arabic learning environment.Students need to purchase the Iqra' Arabic Reader 2, Iqra' Arabic Reader Workbook 2, and a notebook specifically for Arabic class.
Friday
In class = Students will review and reinforce the Arabic classroom rules and expectations to ensure that they clearly understand the rules and know what is expected of them throughout the new school year. Students will have an opportunity to discuss the rules, ask questions, and clarify any expectations. Review of Arabic Alphabet – Sounds and Forms
Students will review the Arabic alphabet, its sounds, and how letters are written in different positions (beginning, middle, end).
Week 2(Sep 7- Sep 11)
Monday
In class =Students will review Arabic letters, short and long vowels, Sukūn, and Shaddah using the textbook, pp. 2–5. They will distinguish between short vowels (ـَ / ـُ / ـِ) and long vowels (ا، و، ي), for example: بَ، بِ، بُ and با، بي، بو. Students will also review Sukūn (ـْ) and Shaddah (ـّ), identify the letters carrying these signs, and practice reading words such as: أرْنب، فأْر، يقْرأ، بيْت، مفْتاح، تمْساح، بطَّة، درَّاجة، سبُّورة، معلِّم، مربَّع.

The students will review the difference between Alif Mamdūdah (ا) and Alif Maqṣūrah (ى) at the end of words, pp. 6–7. Examples include ماما، بابا، بطاطا with ا, and هدى، ليلى، بشرى، سلمى، نجوى with ى.
The students will also review Tāʾ Marbūṭah (ة) and Hāʾ (ه) at the end of words. Examples include عائشة، وردة، لعبة، سميرة، هدية، سيارة، شاة، نظيفة with ة, and وجوه، وجه، مياه with ه.
Students will sort words into four groups according to their final letter: ا / ى / ة / ه.
Homework:
Write 3 words with Alif Mamdūdah (ا), 3 words with Alif Maqṣūrah (ى), 3 words ending in Tāʾ Marbūṭah (ة), and 3 words ending in Hāʾ (ه).
Friday
In class =Students will review Arabic letters, short and long vowels, Sukūn, Shaddah, Alif Mamdūdah (ا), Alif Maqṣūrah (ى), Tāʾ Marbūṭah (ة), and Hāʾ (ه) using the textbook, pp. 2–7. Students will read and identify the vowels and signs in different words. They will then sort words into four groups according to their final letter: ا / ى / ة / ه. Students will also identify whether each word contains a short vowel, long vowel, Sukūn, or Shaddah.
Homework = Read and practice the conversation on page 7 of the textbook in preparation for the next lesson.

Homework= Complete Exercises 1–2 in the workbook on pages 1–2.

In class =The students will study Lesson 4: تدريبات الشفوية on page 12. They will practise asking and answering questions about names, ages, and neighbours. They will practise both masculine and feminine forms, including ما اسمك؟ / ما اسمكِ؟، كم عمرك؟ / كم عمركِ؟، هل لك جار؟ / هل لكِ جارة؟. Students will practise the questions and answers orally with partners.

In class =The students will study Lesson 4: تدريبات الشفوية on page 12. They will practise asking and answering questions about names, ages, and neighbours. They will practise both masculine and feminine forms, including ما اسمك؟ / ما اسمكِ؟، كم عمرك؟ / كم عمركِ؟، هل لك جار؟ / هل لكِ جارة؟. Students will practise the questions and answers orally with partners.
Homework = Complete the assigned oral practice exercises from Lesson 4 in the workbook.
WednesdayIn class = The students will study Lesson 5: القواعد الوظيفية on page 13. They will learn and practise the singular subject pronouns أنا، أنتَ، أنتِ، هو، هي and the connected pronouns ـكَ، ـكِ، ـكُمْ، ـهُ، ـهَا. They will read the examples aloud and practise using the pronouns in simple sentences such as أنا آدم، اسمي آدم، هل أنت يوسف؟، جارُهُ يوسف، جارتُها مريم.
Homework = Copy the sentences that contain singular subjects and plural possessive pronouns from page 13 of the textbook into your notebook.
Friday
In class = The students will study Lesson 6: التهجّي والإملاء on page 14. They will identify the correctly spelled word from groups of similar words and practise reading and spelling vocabulary from the unit. They will also review tanween and practise reading and writing words such as جارٌ، مرحباً، سنواتٍ، أهلاً، سعيدٌ، لقاءٍ، جديدٌ، بيتٍ، أيضاً
Homework= Practice the spelling test words on page 14: جارٌ، مرحباً، سنواتٍ، أهلاً، سعيد، لقاءٍ، جَديدٌ، بيتٍ، أيضًا.
