EXCEEDED
Parent survey results attest to the good environment of the school. Parents feel welcome and appreciate the atmosphere of openness, trust, acceptance, and mutual respect. They say their kids love to come to school and feel safe and supported by the school staff. Based on the BQA report, Section Two, personality development has been the school's key strength and student voice and engagement opportunities have been provided to support their development. Policies and procedures on child protection and safeguarding counselling related to their safety and wellbeing exist. E1
Standard E2 (Core). The school has clearly documented and effectively implemented policies and procedures relating to child safeguarding to protect and promote the well-being of all enrolled students. These policies set out how the school addresses the following issues: safer recruitment; staff conduct, student behaviour, reporting, managing and recording child safeguarding concerns and allegations of abuse; roles and responsibilities of staff, leaders and governors to manage and oversee safeguarding, staff training, student education and parental engagement; peer on peer harassment and abuse (including but not limited to bullying and sexual harassment); online safety; and security and health and safety. These exceed, where necessary, local regulatory requirements.
MET
The school puts student safety a priority, and there are policies in place to ensure that student safety is always secured, including health and safety measures and safeguarding procedures. The school's policy on child protection and welfare covers various aspects of wellbeing and outlines how to protect children from harm. Teachers and staff undergo relevant training. High school students organize activities related to safety and wellbeing, such as first aid awareness, domestic violence, diabetes, breast cancer, and mental health. Orientations are conducted for students and parents. To ensure further safety, the school follows the MOE procedure of first seeking the MOE approval for activities that involve participants other than the school students, teachers, or staff. E2
Standard E3 (Core). The school ensures the provision of health care, healthy relationship and well-being education, and these exceed, where necessary, local regulatory requirement. [NB: this standard is focused upon health and health education]
MET
The school’s transition to the Middle Years Programme (MYP) officially integrates health education into the Physical Education (PE) curriculum, which is now referred to as Physical and Health Education (PHE). This shift enhances the curriculum by combining physical fitness with important health-related topics, ensuring a more holistic approach to student well-being. E3
The Health and Safety team and First Aiders consists of the PHE teachers and school nurse. The team's program for health and health education ensures health and wellbeing of our students. In addition, the nurse is provided with the list of students who reported in their Cambridge Wellbeing Check that they "never feel healthy" for immediate attention. E3
