Standard A1 (Core). The school's purpose, direction and decision-making is guided by clear and aspirational guiding statements that are appropriate for the needs of all constituent groups and the context of the school.

The school rebranded after COVID-19 pandemic. And it refined its guiding statements, simplifying its vision and mission and introduced "ambition" to its values. The key inclusion is the tagline: "local root, global reach", which fits for purpose, direction, and decisions taken by the school, such as aspiring to be an IB continuum school, and is appropriate for its context and needs of its constituents, who are almost all local and homogenous. As part of the school’s rebranding, marked by its new logo that expresses our identity, we are making a significant shift that strengthens our commitment to blending local heritage with global opportunities. This change ensures that every initiative reflects our renewed identity and purpose. We are proud of our school for being recognized at the Transform Awards MEA 2023, which highlights the school’s dedication to excellence in creativity and strategic growth. A1

Our clear commitment to high-quality teaching and learning (HIGHER EDGE) is fully reflected in our applications to become an IB Continuum. The school believes that our HIGHER EDGE is best served with the IB continuum, and our progress towards full authorization for the IB PYP, MYP, and CP reflects our ambition and drive that is consistent with our guiding statements. Our commitment to high-quality teaching and learning is further evident in our continuous participation in quality assurances such as the BQA, the 5-year evaluation cycle, IB continuum authorization, and CIS reaccreditation. And we address the challenges of AI to education by upskilling our staff with the exploration of how AI and robotics can further enhance the quality of our teaching and learning. A2
Our external examination results in the IBDP validate the quality of our teaching and learning. Our students perform better than most schools (above world average) in key statistics such as the average points and average grade and pass rate. Beyond numbers, our alumni secured prestigious scholarship such as the Crowne Prince International Scholarship Program, the BIBF data science and business analytics, and Ministry of Education. They are also chosen to serve as models by institutions like RCSI. A2

Our school is committed to fostering global citizenship and intercultural learning through various programs and initiatives. We define global citizenship as promoting shared responsibility for a sustainable future and encouraging collaboration to address global challenges, while intercultural learning emphasizes respect for cultural diversity and understanding. These definitions are now best captured by our "local root, global reach" tagline. A3
Our commitment to developing global citizenship and intercultural learning are shown in our Global Citizenship Initiatives (GCI) which includes, Model United Nations (MUN, Global Citizenship School Course in partnership with UNESCO and Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and a range of UNESCO-related activities. These programs, along with the IB Continuum, foster global awareness, critical thinking, and intercultural respect across our curriculum. A3
Community support to our global citizenship initiatives results in increased participation in and demand for APGMUN, which is now on its 4th major events in less than 2 years, and enables the launching of the First APG MUN JR 1 attended by 17 schools on 4th October 2024. Feedback gathered from parents and participants regarding the MUN event highlights both positive experiences and areas for improvement. A3

The child protection policy reinforces our guiding statements and our commitment to the CIS Code of Ethics and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It ensures a secure environment where students are protected, and their well-being prioritized. A4
Our safeguarding policy ensures a safe, supportive environment where students' rights are upheld and their dignity respected. This policy will be integrated with the child protection policy to streamline the procedures, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach to student safety and well-being. A4
Our participation in the Oxford Well-being Research pilot study and Cambridge Well-being Check (CWC) supports our commitment to student well-being, aligning with our guiding statements and policies. Focusing on well-being measurement highlights our commitment to students' rights, safety, and well-being, aligned with the CIS Code of Ethics and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1990).
