The Curriculum
Standard C1 (Core). The curriculum as a whole, offers access, engagement and challenge to support the intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs of all students.
EXCEEDED
One meaningful impact of transitioning to IB MYP is enhancing the balance of curriculum. Planning ensued that resulted in the new MYP brochure, and the updated timetable ensures access, engagement, and challenge to support intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs for all students, such as the adjustment of timings to show fair importance of each subject and the addition of Health in PE. Another good impact of the transition process is the addition of Service as Action and Personal Project, which cater to the social and emotional needs of students previously less given attention in IGCSE's strong focus on academics. C1
Standard C2 (Core). The document curriculum determines the development of knowledge, understanding, skills and attributes, including well-being and intercultural competencies relevant to the students' current and future development.
MET
The IBMYP subject group overview ensures HQLT. It is informed by the school guiding statements, latest in IB curriculum review, the BQA, and CIS standards. It is reinforced by the school well-being project and global citizenship initiatives. And it is improved by the interests of students as expressed in their subject registrations, enabling us to widen our subject offerings as needed. Our MYP programme is progressing toward IB verification, with positive consultation and authorization feedback. Teachers are developing skills, and assessments are being refined. C2
Standard C3 (Core). Global citizenship, intercultural learning and digital citizenship are intentionally planned for within the curriculum to ensure students are well prepared for life beyond school.
MET
The school PLT developed its definitions of global citizenship, intercultural learning, and digital citizenship. But these are due for amendments to align with the "local root, global reach" tagline that captures well these definitions. The school offers digital society course and has the BYOD policy to promote digital citizenship and appropriate use of technology. The school's Global Citizenship Initiatives, the APGMUN, and participation in the Global Citizenship Course provides opportunity for students to demonstrate intercultural and digital and global citizenship skills simultaneously and concurrently with the learning program. The GCED Innovative School Code (link the code here) guides our development of standard. C3
