WAKE COUNTY
Alliance Health serves people in Wake County who are insured by Medicaid or are uninsured. Their network of providers offers treatment and support for mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Free and low cost counseling in Raleigh, NC
New Leaf Behavioral Health website states it has a commitment to serving all in the community, including many whose options for mental health treatment are limited.
CHATHAM COUNTY
Vaya Health (previously Cardinal Innovations) assists individuals who:
Have an intellectual and/or developmental disability; mental health issue; or substance abuse disorder.
Receive Medicaid, do not have insurance, or their private insurance is not enough.
Freedom House recruits area therapists to provide free short-term counseling to under-insured or uninsured people in Orange, Durham, Chatham and Person counties and who are in need of services. Up to eight free counseling sessions are offered.
If you don't have health insurance and are unable to pay out of pocket for treatment, and can't find appropriate free or low-cost counseling through the sources above, you may talk to your bishop to see if it is an appropriate situation to use fast offering funds to help pay for the counseling.
