The rains have official started in Chitipa. The past few weeks has been messy with flooding in Kamene and the roof blowing off four classrooms at Kawale FP. Snow is officially due tomorrow in the North of England. Cath got up early in 2026 and went for a dip in the North Sea. I was away on my bike before she got back. The first two hours went well through Chathill, Bamburgh and onto Belford. My fingers and noses were freezing. The next two hours was tough via Fenwick, Beal and onto Goswick. It hailed mini golf balls at the Goswick golf club where I hoped to warm up but the cafe was shut. I agreed to meet Cath back at the A1 services and just had time to get to the Holy Island causeway but would have needed another hour before being able to cross. I settled for a services coffee but couldn't feel the ends of my fingers as I tapped on the machine. The fundraising has started well. I have raised £1250 to this point, thanks to Steve Fuller for taking the ECB bat for £250 and Nick Parker taking the ECB signed shirt for £60. The HMRC gives 25% on all small donations. So on January the 1st 2026 I had cycled 818 kilometres and raised £1250.
