Apatseni

Apatseni is a Chichewa word meaning 'give them'. During my two years as a volunteer living and working in Northern Malawi I played football for a team called Apatseni Socials. We were a charitable team.

These diaries follow my journey at first between 1999-2000 as a Sports Development Officer working at the Malawi Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture and then later starting in 2016 back in Northern Malawi as I continued to support and encourage sports development through Sports and Young Leaders training.

Apatseni seemed a perfect name for the diaries as I had given a lot during my time in Northern Malawi but had been given so much in return.
