Port Fitzroy Wharf will be abuzz with excitement and community spirit on January 27th, as the 'Manu Comp' diving competition splashes into action from 10 AM onwards. This family-friendly event is proudly brought to you by the Aotea Family Support Group and Kaiarahi Rangatahi, with a heartfelt mission to raise funds for an off-island trip for our local youth.
'The Manu Comp' promises a day of fun, laughter, and wholesome competition, with categories catering to all ages. Children up to age 12, youth between 12 and 17, and adults over 18 are invited to show off their diving skills. The competition also honors our veterans with a special category for those aged 50 and above. Participants will vie for various titles, including the 'Biggest Splash' and 'Best Costumes, Creative Jump/Freestyle,' making for an entertaining spectacle for both competitors and spectators alike.
The event emphasizes community and family values, aiming to create lasting memories, new experiences, and fostering a sense of togetherness — Whanaungatanga. A modest entry fee of $5 is all it takes to be part of this memorable day, with the proceeds going towards an important cause.

In addition to the diving competition, the event will feature 'Kai and Market Stalls,' where attendees can indulge in delicious local foods and browse through a variety of goods, supporting local vendors and craftspeople.
The Aotea/Great Barrier Local Board takes pride in announcing that the event will be an alcohol-free and zero-waste event, reflecting the community's commitment to sustainability and responsible celebration.
So, mark your calendars and join us at the Port Fitzroy Wharf for 'The Manu Comp.' It's more than just a competition; it's a day to champion our youth and come together as one big whānau. Let's make a splash for a good cause!
