The Residual Seal Force Tester is a device that determines the seal quality of a pharmaceutical vial by measuring the stress exerted by a compressed elastomeric closure flange on a vial seal after aluminum crimping of the vial. This force can be related to the quality of the seal on a pharmaceutical vial. This project involved prototyping a modification and advancement to an existing version of the electromechanical testing device .
