Before leaving, we had a meeting with the State University of Malang regarding preparations before departure to Lampang Rajabhat University. On August 27th, 2023 we traveled from Indonesia to Thailand. this was my first experience traveling abroad. We traveled from Juanda airport, Surabaya, Soekarno Hatta airport, Jakarta and then Don Mueang airport, Thailand. After we arrived at Don Mueang airport, Thailand we were picked up by Ma'am Ying as the coordinator of Lampang Rajabhat University. Then we stayed for one day at the hotel. This was the first time I met other SEA teacher participants. In the afternoon we sea teachers agreed to go to the Night Market together.
Then on August 28th, all of us SEA Teacher batch 9th participants left for Lampang City by being escorted by Lampang Rajabhat University. Then we were dropped off at an dorm in close to the school that we would use for teaching practice during the SEA Teacher program.
On August 29th, we had a meeting with the director and teachers at Banpongsanook School. This meeting discussed about what subjects we will teach, what classes we will teach during the SEA Teacher program and also about school regulations. Then we were accompanied by the cooperation teacher to continue to tour the school and observe the class and school. At noon we SEA Teacher participants had a lunch together.
On August 30th, we were accompanied by teachers from Bangpongsanook School to Lampang Rajabhat University to carry out Inbound Orientation Meeting activity. We held Inbound Orientation Meeting which was attended by all SEA Teacher participants from the Philippines and Indonesia and was also attended by lecturers who would test and assess our teaching methods and lecturers from Lampang Rajabhat University.
At the Inbound Orientation Meeting all SEA Teacher participants were invited to introduce themselves, after which they discussed activities that would be carried out for one month. And also the distribution of mentors who will test us when teaching. We will also be accompanied by students from Lampang Rajabhat University for one month if we have difficulties during the activity.
On the way home we were escorted by teachers from Bangpongsanook School to visit the secret garden Café in Lampang. Thank you 🙏❤️
This week I observed the Primary 1 Normal Program class accompanied by my cooperating teacher, Kru' Mye. I observed primary 1 class with English subject. My observation was conducted from Monday to Friday in the first week. During the observation, I also introduced myself to the students. They call me Teacher "Jani", I really love this nickname because it is very cute and beautiful. Thank you ❤️
The observation I did was to observe the method of teaching in the classroom, the media and teaching materials that the teacher uses in the classroom, the habits of the students during learning, and the assessment used by the teacher.
I will never forget this experience, because many students were excited by my arrival and we became close, there was one student who drew my self-portrait, and there were also students who gave cute stickers and this also made me touched by their kindness. ❤️
On Saturday, we decided to go to one of the malls (Central Plaza Lampang) with our Indonesian, Filipino and Thai friends to buy some groceries and at 6pm we decided to go to the Night Market (Kat kong tha) to explore culinary tourism. This was a wonderful experience as we were able to build up our friendship.🌟
We attended the welcoming ceremony reserved for participants from SEA Teachers from Bangpangsanook School, we were instructed to go to the school field and receive flowers as a welcome to Bangpangsanook School, we also introduced ourselves in front of all the Teachers, Kindergarten students, and 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th grade students. MEP (Mini English Program) Camp Day
We participated in the MEP Class (Mini English Program) camp day at Pangluang garden, Lampang, attended by Bangpongsanook School SEA Teacher participants and also Teachers from the MEP Class program. In this activity we attended a table manner class taught by Miss Jess, this is an activity to increase students' knowledge in eating in accordance with applicable procedures such as using a fork and knife when eating steak.
This week I carried out teaching assistant in class in class 1 normal program at Banpongsanook School with the subject of English by Teacher Mye. In today's activity I assisted the teacher in explaining the material, helping students in doing assignments, helping students when there are difficulties when understanding the learning and also checking the students' assignments that have been given by the teacher.
This week I also developed a lesson plan that I will use for teaching practice in the third week and I asked my cooperating teacher for feedback and submitted the lesson plan to her before doing teaching practice in class.
All of us SEA Teacher participants along with ma'am Ying the coordination team of Lampang Rajabhat University visited Pratart Lampang Luang Temple. We also visited The Thai Elephant Conservation Center Lampang, We also visited the museum and hospital specifically for elephants. Then we visited one of the cafe in Lampang namely Dapliw Cafe we were ordered cakes and also very tasty and refreshing drinks by Ma'am Ying.
This was a very enjoyable experience because we were able to expand our cultural knowledge in Thailand, and learn about the various kinds of elephants and see the cuteness of elephants.
This week I did teaching practice in primary 1 normal program room 1/1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6 with the subject of English accompanied by Teacher Mye with the material "what do I have?" using lesson plans 1, 2 and 3. at the end of the practice, two Mentors from Lampang Rajabhat University gave an assessment and suggestions on the teaching I gave to students. This week I get a lot of meaningful experience and really helps me to develop my teaching methods in the classroom. Thanks a lot 🙏
After teaching practice I and also all students from primary 1 normal program took a group photo. I would like to say Thank you to all my students who have done learning well, you are the best, I hope you become a successful person in the future. Love you all ❤️.
The coordinator of Bangpongsanook school, ma'am Emi, took us around Lampang city to Nakhon Lampang, Wat Chiang Rai Temple, Thai Restaurant, Chambadee Ceramic Museum and also the traditional market. We bought some souvenirs and snacks to bring back to our country. This was a pleasant experience because Ma'am Emi always took pictures of us and also took us to interesting places and cared for us like family. Thank you a lot Ma'am Emi. ❤️🙏
On that day we decided to go to The Prop Cafe together with all the SEA Teacher participants and our friends from Lampang Rajabhat University, and we ate grilled meat together at the restaurant. On that day we took photos together and we talked about our lives in our home countries. This experience really helped us to develop our friendship.
On that day, we and our fellow Banpongsanook School teachers visited Lampang's chartsomboon restaurant for lunch and encouraged us not to be nervous about presenting our activities at Banpongsanook School.🙏❤️
We did a presentation together with the 9th SEA Teacher Batch participants, the presentation was done with each team according to the assigned school, this presentation was an explanation of the activities we did from the first week to the third week, at the end of the presentation the teacher from Banpongsanook School was allowed to give feedback.
We also did a sharing session with Lampang Rajabhat University students about life on campus, culture, curriculum in their respective countries accompanied by Ma'am Ying as the coordinator of Lampang Rajabhat University.
We did a performance show which was divided into Indonesian and Filipino teams, from the Indonesian team performing a dance entitled Wonderland Indonesia and performing songs. The we were called one by one to distribute certificates and take pictures together. Lampang Rajabhat University gave souvenirs as a memory and a token of gratitude.
At the end of the meeting, all of us SEA Teacher Batch 9th participants had dinner together at Lampang restaurant with Lampang Rajabhat University Coordinators Ma'am Ying and Ma'am Joy. Thank a lot 🙏❤️
On that day at 09.00 we went to Banpongsanook School to hand over souvenirs which were attended by the director, deputy director, and accompanying teachers, we also said thank you.
All of us SEA Teacher batch 9th participants and also the coordinator of Lampang Rajabhat University visited Ayutthaya wat pra mahatat to just walk around and learn about the place and we bought some souvenirs.❤️
24th September was our last day in Thailand after we ran the SEA Teacher program for one month. on that day we said goodbye to Ms. Ying and Ms. Joy as the Coordinator of Lampang Rajabhat University before heading to the airport.
It was sad to say goodbye and happy because of the experiences we have made together in Thailand during the SEA Teacher program. The experience really helped us to improve our teaching and pedagogy skills, improve our English language skills and increase our knowledge of various cultures. 🙏❤️
