My favorite color is purple.

My favorite beverages are sweet tea and cold flavored coffee.

My favorite artist is George Strait, the King of Country Music.

My favorite travel spot is Nashville. (I have been 14 times.)

My favorite places to eat are Waffle House, Mc Alister's Deli, and Chick-fil-A.

My favorite places to shop are Walmart, Target, Amazon, and Dollar Tree.

My hobbies include: traveling, collecting autographs of country music artists

and other famous people, photography, crafting, sewing/quilting, and painting.


My name is Angel M. Herring and I am currently seeking my Master of Education degree in Digital Learning and Leading from Lamar University.


My most recent accomplishment (February 2020), was being honored at the February Board meeting and presented a certificate of accomplishment by Dr. Angi Williams, the superintendent.

In February 2020, I was award ESL Teacher of the Year for my school. In December 2019, I was nominated by a fellow employee and was selected as Teacher of the Month.

At the end of the 2018-2019 school year, I was awarded the Teacher Appreciation award from the Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union.

In May 2019, ATPE chose me as their Educator of the Year and I attended the district's award ceremony. Dr. Williams, the superintendent presented me the award.

In April 2019, I received the BEST TEACHER EVER award from Star Furniture and 100.3, The Bull.

In late February, I was awarded ESL Teacher of the Year for Galena Park ISD. I am very honored to receive this award. I competed in the HAABE (Houston Area Association of Bilingual Education). The ceremony took place in late April.

In February, I won the Robert E. Knight Scholarship from TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association). They had over 100 applications this year for all of their awards. I was very honored to receive this award.

My campus voted me ESL Teacher of the Year for Normandy Crossing Elementary in January 2019.

In April 2018, I won the Educator of the Year award by the Children's Museum of Houston. This was a big honor for me. Each of their board members visited my classroom to see my teaching abilities in person. I also made an extensive portfolio with photos and completed several essay type questions.




I have been a classroom teacher for 14 years. I have taught pre-k, kindergarten, and second grade.

I hold a Texas Educator Certificate, Generalist EC-4 and an ESL (English as a Second Language) EC-4.

I am Google Certified Level 1, Microsoft Innovative Educator, and also an Apple Certified Teacher. I am a Certified Campus Technology Specialist by TCEA (Texas Computer Educator Association). I recently completed the Masters program at Lamar University, earning a Master's degree in Digital Learning and Leading.

I love learning new techniques and attending as much professional development as possible. My favorite type of PD is centered around using technology in the classroom.
