2019 Charity Events

Picking up from the successful special events in 2018, the Foundation sent US$5,000 (VND115,000,000) to the Nguyen Huu Luong/Uncle Thanh team to conduct more charity trips in rural areas of south Vietnam in late 2019 and early 2020. They conducted 4 trips prior to the lunar new year (January 2020) and was planning for the 5th trip which was placed on hold due to Covid. Here are the reports from Luong.

• Trip 1 (Dec 29, 2019): The Foundation delivered 100 packages of rice and noodle to members of the Association for the Blind of Ba-Tri District. Total cost was VND18,000,000. Ba Tri is a rural district of Bến Tre Province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam.

• Trip 2 (Jan 5, 2020): The Foundation handed out gifts to orphans and homeless elders at the Hoa-Hao Assistance Center in Nhon-Trach District. Total cost was VND15,000,000. Nhơn Trạch is a rural district of Đồng Nai Province in the Southeast region of Vietnam.

• Trip 3 (Jan 11-12, 2020): On this 2-day trip, the Foundation joined force with a group of doctors to deliver gifts and physical check-ups to highlanders in An Lộc (ward), Town of Bình Long. The Foundation funded 130 packages of rice, noodle, and sweets, while the doctors provided medical exams and medicines. The cost for our part was VND47,000,000. Bình Long is a town of Bình Phước Province in the Southeast region of Vietnam.

• Trip 4 (Jan 19, 2020): The Foundation went back to Bình Phước Province to hand rice and noodle to poor families. The cost for this trip was VND15,000,000.

Quỹ từ thiện: USD5000 = VND115,000,000

Chú Thành đã thực hiện 4 đợt từ thiện vào dịp trước Tết:

• Đợt 1 (29/12/2019): phát quà cho người mù ở Bến Tre, VND18,000,000;
• Đợt 2 (5/1/2020): phát quà cho trẻ mồ côi, người già tại các trại trẻ mồ côi và chùa ở Long Thành, VND15,000,000;
• Đợt 3 (11&12/1/2020): phát quà cho người Thượng ở Bình Phước, VND47,000,000. Đợt này mình có đi kết hợp với đoàn từ thiện của bác sĩ khám bệnh và phát thuốc.
• Đợt 4 (19/1/2020): phát quà cho người nghèo ở Bình Phước, VND15,000,000.

Tổng cộng mình đã sử dụng VND95,000,000 cho 4 đợt từ thiện vừa rồi. Quỹ còn lại VND20,000,000. Chú Thành dự tính mình sẽ có thêm 1 đợt phát quà sau Tết với phần quỹ còn lại.
