This is the first year that the Board sent the 2022-2023 scholarship money to the Phams, Nguyens #1 and Nguyens #2 wirelessly. The Board zelled money to a family member in Saigon, who subsequently wired money directly to the bank account of each of the 3 families. Duong Pham lives in Ha-Noi now, attending the second year at Ha-Noi University of Culture; so our family member transferred directly to Duong's bank account. This year we also added another family to the An-Duyen Scholarship program. Below is a brief report of the students' performance and achievement in the last school year (2021-2022).
Ms. Nhai and Ms. Loc did very well in 8th grade and 3rd grade, respectively.
In the summer, Ms. Nhai was selected to represent the school in a math competition at the district level and came in 3rd place. She was subsequently qualified for the provincial competition, which in itself was an admirable achievement.
Ms. Nhai finished 8th grade with the highest honor. Her school report shows that her best subject is math, earning a 9.7 score, out of the perfect 10. Her next best subjects are English and Geography, each with a 9.0 score.
Ms. Loc finished 3rd grade with excellent marks, earning scores of 9.0 in math, English, literature, and computer. The head teacher also complimented Loc's conduct in the school report (e.g., caring for classmates and respectful to elders).
Ms. Chau completed the first year in Tran Nhat-Duat High School and will be in the 11th grade in 2022-2023 school year.
Chau's school report shows that she performed well in school, ranking 7th out of her class of 48 students. Her best subject was chemistry and worst was physics. We hired a tutor in Saigon to help her with English remotely.
Mr. Thuong is the newest student in the An-Duyen Scholarship program. He's entering 7th grade in the 2022-2023 school year.
Thuong's school report for 6th grade shows that he scored above average in all subjects, except English which he received a score of 4.4, out of 10. We'll monitor his progress and find ways to help him improve.
