Dr. Meg Chuang, ND, LAc
Meet Dr. Chuang
Dr. Meg Chuang is a naturopathic doctor and Chinese Medicine practitioner whose treating philosophy is heavily influenced by the ancient wisdom of both the Eastern and Western view of health and well-being. While she sees a human being an integral part of Nature, she also understands the value of individuality. The sociocultural and humanistic aspects of patient care are of great importance to Dr. Chuang. She strives to provide patients culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed care.
Dr. Chuang offers a variety of treatment modalities to serve patients with different needs in their quest for better health. She combines standard of care with Chinese and Western traditional natural medicines to achieve the best clinical outcome. Her treating principle is based on the salutogenic model of health with the use of evidence-based modalities to help patients achieve their health goals in a safe, gentle, holistic, and sustainable way. In the salutogenic model, the emphasis is put on factors that contribute to one’s overall well-being. The goal is not to fight disease, but to help regulate the body and encourage it to restore its innate abilities to fend for itself when being under physical or mental-emotional stress.
Dr. Chuang sees herself as a healer, an educator, and a cheerleader for her patients. She helps patients understand all aspects of their health care and make the journey to better health easier and less confusing.

Education & Experience
At an early age, Dr. Chuang found her calling in medicine. After she graduated from University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Human Biology, Dr. Chuang fell in love with Chinese medicine through her personal experience with the medicine and working as a clinic assistant at the local Chinese medicine clinic in her second hometown in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. Around the same time, she was also introduced to Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Chuang was fascinated by the similarities between the two medicines that evolved independently from two separate parts of the world. In 2019, Dr. Chuang completed her trainings in both Naturopathic Medicine and Chinese Medicine at the National University of Natural Medicine, Portland, Oregon.
During her time there, she found her passion in integrative oncology. Dr. Chuang has more than 300 hours of clinic training in integrative oncology. As a part of her training, she learned how to combine acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and dietary and lifestyle coaching to help cancer patients manage and recover from side effects associated with conventional cancer therapies and improve quality of life.
