(Formerly Anubh na Preachain, she/her)
Welcome to the page where I keep track of my reenactment projects. I was known for 30 years in reenactment groups as Anubh na Preachain, but in November 2022 the SCA approved my name as Lady Anauved de Mona (still pronounced ah-NOOV). I prefer the Anubh spelling. My mundane name is Monika Townsend.
I have been active in reenactment since 1988, but I spent many years playing less with the SCA and more with Washington, DC-area early period Celtic mercenary and splinter groups. I began turning attention to the SCA in the early 2020s. I am primarily interested in Iron Age Britain, with side quests to Hallstatt, La Tène, and the central/northern European Bronze Age.
Some of what you will find here is meant to help beginner reenactors, some involves deeper dives into research and more complex crafting. Most is intended for an SCA audience but there are nods to the culture and priorities of LARP/mercenary/splinter groups. I have no intention of removing feet from either world. For a full resume/list of SCA accomplishments, see the "about" page here.
