I am a linguist currently conducting post-doctoral research in the Department of Linguistics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
I am currently working as post-doctoral researcher in the EU funded project ACTIN (ACT and connect for INtegration) at the Department of Linguistics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The project aims to support and reinforce the integration and inclusion of migrant children and adolescents in education by means of language learning and cultural awareness activities in formal and informal education settings.
My previous post-doctoral research has been funded from the German Research Foundation (DFG) via:
a) the Walter Benjamin Programme awarded to particularly qualified early career post-doctoral researchers. Project title: Acquisition and online processing of Voice in Children with Developmental Language Disorder: Is non-active morphology a clinical marker?" Host institution: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Department of Linguistics.
b) the research project Voice Acquisition at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Department of Linguistics.
RESEARCH FOCUS
My research (as demonstrated from my research output) focuses on:
bilingualism and heritage/minority languages
bilingual and migrant education
language learning and teaching in migrant and refugee children and adolescents
first and second language acquisition and language processing in typical and atypical child development as well as adults
language disorders
narratives and corpora of adult and child bilinguals/learners
In terms of teaching, I have taught BA and MA semester courses within the areas of Psycholinguistics, Neurolinguistics and Language Disorders, Bilingualism, Language Contact, Applied Linguistics, Syntax, and Semantics at the University of Konstanz, Humbodlt University of Berlin, University of Crete, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and New York College-Thessaloniki (in collaboration with the University of Greenwich).
