Problems of SSPACE
Strategy or Approach to Solve or develop any technology:
Divide the project into deliverables of three month durations, that go in sync with the sems and the summer programs.
AI incorporation is not the challenge, use ChatGPT for all documentation purposes and report synthesis.
Use task management by analog methods, (sticky notes are the best, if you dont like that build a digital system where anyone can just register and set the To Do list for that day)
Meetings should be having an agenda and not be longer than an hour, if they cross, just postpone the discussion to the next day, a couple of times we will eventually become capable of 1 hour limitation.
PD sir should not be dragged into every process, consult and learn decision making wherever necessary. Having a horizontal managerial structure is the best way (ISRO is vertical, and SpaceX is horizontal, ukw the difference)
Bring in faculty coordinators to provide SSPACE awards, Harsha sir would be a good choice, anyways there will be a small sspace committee that will do this.
Involve alumni in the hardest way, make sure SSPACE access and the upcoming juniors are always in touch with atleast 6 generations.
Data storage is a big problem, we need server stations and also RAID servers for data storage (implement it, although it takes time).
In a horizontal structured organization the depth is smaller, and things are more faster, the only issue would be we will be missing some key points in a project, to avoid that, give the sspace alumnus tasks to evaluate the respond back with suggestions.
Report making should be a new normal, papers should be a piece of cake, and articles should be just like class notes, if this exists everything is brighter
Keep visiting the -1 floor of library and go through the magazines as a group of 3 or 4 people per magazine and discuss about whats happening in the world, rather than decide the RnD to work on.
Brainstorming sessions should keep happening not only at SSPACE lab but outside near the fountain or the GS while you play around with things. It is peace that brings wisdom.
Stratification goes as follows:
Everyone in SSPACE should be able to do technical, managerial and RnD in their respective projects
Final year projects and internships should be taken up and done in sspace, if they do not find things interesting, ask them to talk to alumnus or PD sir.
SSPACE should be a group of people who are direction finders and not followers, possible only by experimenting and understanding what they are good at early enough.
Inductions can be taken as soon as the admissions process is complete, and it has to be given by the oldest to the incoming batches, that is very effective and will be a refresher.
If the problem lies in the capacity of the individual it is fine, we can improve, but it should not lie in the mindset of that person, only way to find out is to have a 40 minute work routine that is intense, and 15 minute brainstorming session or relaxation session where you discuss Ideas and implement them progressively.
Working as a team is not easy, we all should also learn to put our egos aside and understand everything matters and you are a gem that shines to shine the others. Best way to do this is to accept you do not know everything in the world and start listening to things.
Meditation helps, 7 to 8 hour sleep helps, listening in the class and making notes helps, gym for 30min to 1 hour helps.
Live like a family, and flow like a river, this is the only time you have to use.
