Reflection: (see full reflection here)
I’m very happy with how the presentation and activities went. I think the students benefited by hearing from students currently in the program. I’m realizing that high schoolers are more fun and not as intimidating as I originally thought they may be. They were also more interested in learning about OT than I also anticipated. Presenting about OT was also beneficial for me because it increased my confidence that I know what I’m talking about and represent OT well. This experience also helped me better recognize that explaining OT is something I will need to continue to do throughout my career and that in some cases, a formal presentation and providing activities is a great avenue.
