Theme:
Legends and Heroes - The Power to Inspire
Eligibility: The competition is open to students from grades 9 to 12.
Team Composition:
Each band must consist of 6-8 members.
All participants must be current students of the same school.
Performance Guidelines:
Number of Compositions: Each band must prepare four musical pieces.
Original Composition: At least one piece must be an original composition that reflects the band's unique interpretation of the theme.
Cover of a Classic Legend: One piece should be a cover of a song that is widely recognized and relates to legendary themes or heroes.
Contemporary Interpretation: One piece should be a modern or contemporary song that can be creatively tied to the theme.
Free Choice: The fourth piece can be of the band's choice, provided it aligns with the theme.
Performance Duration: The total performance time, including all four pieces, should not exceed 15 minutes, including setup and teardown time.
Instruments and Equipment: Bands are responsible for bringing their own instruments and equipment.
Lyrics and Content:
Lyrics and performance content must be appropriate for a school setting.
Any form of offensive or inappropriate content will lead to disqualification.
There must be NO vulgarities, profanities, lewd comments, racist remarks, violence, sexual content, references to suicide or drug use, etc. in the lyrics.
Evaluation Criteria:
Relevance to Theme: How well the performance captures the essence of legends and heroes.
Musicality: Technical skill, harmony, and overall sound quality.
Creativity: Originality and innovation in the interpretation of the theme.
Stage Presence: Energy, engagement, and overall presentation.
Audience Impact: Connection with the audience and overall performance impact.
Submission Requirements: Bands must submit a brief description of their performance pieces, including song titles and any relevant details in the link below. Please contact the school for further guidance on this matter.
9. Conduct and Discipline:
Participants must adhere to the code of conduct as outlined by the organizing committee.
Respectful Behaviour: All contestants are expected to maintain a respectful and professional attitude towards each other, the judges, and the competition staff
Any form of misconduct or violation of rules will lead to immediate disqualification.
10. Safety and Compliance
All performances must be conducted in a safe and orderly manner.
Compliance with school policies and local regulations is mandatory.
11. Final Decisions: The decisions of the judges and the organizing committee are final and binding.
12. Intellectual Property: Content created during the competition remains the intellectual property of the contestants. However, by participating, contestants grant permission for the competition organizers to share their content for promotional purposes.
