SPECIAL CLUB CALLSIGNS FOR 2012

The South Dorset Radio Society held notices of variation to operate it's club callsign, G3SDS, using a special temporary prefix for the Queens Diamond Jubilee (00.00 BST 5 May 2012 to 23.59 BST 10 June 2012 inclusive) and for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (00.00 BST 21 July 2012 to 23.59 BST 9 September 2012 inclusive). The GQ3SDS and GO3SDS were operated by members of the South Dorset Radio Society from various locations. Details were published on this web page and in the monthly newsletter 'Catswhisker' which is available to read on this website.

22/05/12 - GQ3SDS has been operating from the QTH of Mike Lenzi, G7HNY who is located at Middlemarsh, near Sherborne in Dorset. You can see more about Mike and his station on QRZ.COM. So far, Mike's operation has been mainly on 40m, around 7.15 MHz.

The QSL cards have arrived and are truly splendid. Many thanks to fdsQSL.com for their prompt and efficient service. Cards are sent out as soon as we receive yours and some have already been dispatched.

12/06/12 - Mike, G7HNY reports that GQ3SDS worked a total of 485 stations, mostly on 40m. Many thanks to everyone that gave us a call.

07/05/12 - GO3SDS The South Dorset Radio Society Amateur radio special event station to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and in particular the sailing events at the Weymouth and Portland venue has not yet been finalized. It will be shown on this webpage as soon as it is available. See the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy Website www.wpnsa.org.uk for more information an the events.
