Shaw Industries- Learning and Development Internship

During my internship, I had gained valuable skills to continue my career development, including facilitate the onboarding corporate orientation to hourly employees in English and Spanish, evaluate and create workflow for easier access to learning content, and gather data related to training and classes.

Within the L&D team, I had also have the opportunity to participate in strategic meetings, 1:1 and monthly meeting with managers to have feedback about my performance and aligned my KSA with the business needs.

Genuine connections

Through my internship, I have also the opportunity to connect with different people genuinely interested on my development as a Master's student.

Some of these engagements had included tours to different facilities to see the manufacturing process of the different products that Shaw offers, participate in workshops, and different team building activities with the Onboarding team.

Finding my passions

Understanding the manufacturing industry has been an imperative for me since I started living in Northeast GA. Likewise, it has been amazing to finally find my career pathway as an I-O psychologist within Talent Management.  Moreover, I believe that understanding the business needs and matching them with the specific needs of the Hispanic population in the region had me to be a competitive professional. Shaw had provided me the opportunity to explore all these passions, with the certainty that I will land in the correct carrer pathways after graduation.
