The Training Aids Division of the US Naval Bureau of Personnel hired contractors to produce instructional materials used during the rapid growth of the Navy in the early years of World War II. Posters were designed by the Training Aids Section in New York. They were printed at several shops throughout the country, of which Amache was one. Amache's final report stated that 250,000 were printed in the two years of the Shop’s existence. The contracts with the Navy enabled the Shop to cover its costs. The posters do not indicate where they were printed, so other than a few posters that have survived in Amache collections, and those that can be seen in photographs of the Shop, they cannot be identified. Most include the Bureau of Naval Personnel stamp in the lower right corner, and a "Nav. Pers" number.
