We had lots of fun on Kincraig Green celebrating Sports Day! We had obstacle courses, egg and spoon, sack race, sprinting and lots more! We worked together in our house teams!
As part of our 'Growing for Life' project we have been learning about food groups and where food comes from. We chose a fruit or vegetable to research and we used geometric collage to create artwork.

The Primary 7 class have been working hard on their enterprise project - a school bake sale! They all worked very hard to plan and to organise it! Everyone loved it and they have raised nearly £400! Well done P7!
P5/6/7 have been learning some basic coding. We used a great website and have started creating characters and some very basic games! We have had lots of fun doing it!

The children in P5/6/7 had the wonderful experience of a Newton Room. They learned lots about coding and importance of giving clear instructions. Well done Stag class!

We loved learning about Fables in The Stag Class! Many of us knew some traditional fables and enjoyed sharing them with each other. We used internet sources, exemplars and group activities to analyze and discuss the characteristics and story lines of different fables. The pupils were ale to analyse different fables, find the moral of the story and identify the message of the fables. As a result, we were able to create their own fables and share them with each other!
As part of our P7 Leadership, the girls designed a Chinese New Year mini lesson where they taught The Stag Class how to make lanterns of different types. They were using lots of skills and showing responsible attitudes, The Stag Class loved it!
As part of our social and emotional wellbeing curriculum, P5/6/7 have been learning about gratitude. We discussed the importance of recognising some of the many things that we are thankful for in our lives. We created gratitude spirals to show people/things and experiences that we are grateful for.
As part of our RME we are learning how Christmas is celebrated around the world! Each cooperative group did some fabulous research and created a quiz for each other using google forms!

P5/6/7 have been working on identifying tree species in our local grounds and across Scotland. We have been studying in the leaves and learning lots of new vocabulary. Our favourite trees were the Hazel and the Oak!

As part of our Land, Sea and Sky project, P6/7 had an amazing opportunity to visit a local Pictish Cemetery!
In recent years, historians and archaeologists suggested that Badenoch was the site of an important battle between the Picts and the Angles of Northumbria, formerly thought to have taken place in Angus, and the shore of Loch Alvie is a likely place for the battle site.
Eve Boyle kindly came into school to help us find out about the history of the site.

As part of our field trip, Primary 6/7 looked at the scale of the cemetery site and the graves. We measured across the diameter and we had very willing volunteers to re-enact the burial! We stood around the circumference to learn how big the burial mound would have been!
Primary 5 have been having a great week at Alltnacriche Outdoor Centre where they are taking part in their John Muir Award! We have been learning how to read maps, looking at legends and keys and how to find out how steep our walk was going to be!
To celebrate our Diversity topic we worked with the Squirrels to build a heart full of diverse materials! As a whole school, we have loved our 'Diversity' topic! P5/6/7 really enjoyed finding out about other cultures in particular, and would like to find out even more about 'Bio'diversity!
We have been learning about Measurement. As part of Numeracy and Maths, we took part in an outdoor scavenger hunt where we looked for different lengths, widths and distances in the school environment. We used measuring tools to help us with accurate measurements after estimating!
This week we have been learning how to work cooperatively and how we build successful teams.
We also explored a story called 'The Red Crayon' which celebrates diversity! We decided that the underlying message was: 'It's okay to be different'. We will use what we have learned to continue to support each other when we work in teams.
